Our home "PRI UKCU" with an apartment house with two apartments is situated in the village of Ukanc on the west side of Lake Bohinj. The name "PRI UKCU" is over 300 years old. It is the name of the house, where I was born and we want to continue using it in the future. You can easily find our country SLOVENIA - a member of EU and its mountainous northwestern part with the TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK and Lake Bohinj.

Rooms

In our house we have four double-bedded rooms of I. category (**). Each room has its own bathroom or shower, WC and a balcony. All our guests have a possibility to use the shared kitchen. In front of the house there is a parking place for your car.

The apartment house

We also have a small apartment house situated only 30 m from our main house with rooms. You can book one four-bedded apartment in the ground floor and another in the first floor of the house. Each apartment has its own entrance and two bedrooms (for four people), a living room, kitchen and a shower with a WC. There is a beautiful meadow in front of the house, where you can spend your free time playing all kinds of sports and sunbathing. In the winter, the apartment is in a dream house, particularly when there is a lot of snow. You can heat both apartments with electricity, one apartment in the ground floor also has the stove, and the place will be quickly warm enough for you.

Bohinj is like a rare treasure where contemporary man can discover his good and peaceful side in the reflections of magnificent nature. It is an inspiring place where time is still synchronised with rhythms of nature. Contemplative calm and silent, Bohinj is also a venue in which adrenaline is spent in an unspoiled wilderness, a place where, amidst the waters, mountain peaks and endless shades of white, a person can find their true self. The white waters of the Savica waterfall, white devils depicted on the wall of the Church of St. John, mountain peaks mirrored in the placid lake, and the milk from the Alpine meadows reflect all the purity of this region in the heart of the Triglav National Park. Agatha Christie, who knew the worst traits of human nature, reputedly said that Bohinj is a place too beautiful for murder.

TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK

Our house with rooms and apartments "PRI UKCU" is situated on the west side of Lake Bohinj in the village of Ukanc. It lies in a really attractive location in the TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK. In summer, you can go swimming in the lake or hiking to the mountains, especially to the beautiful Triglav Lakes Valley. Slovenia's Alpine region boasts more than 90 protected areas and sites, the largest and single most important of which is the Triglav National Park. This is indeed a land of impressive peaks and waterfalls, picturesque gorges and canyons, serene lakes and vivacious rivers, as well as remarkable flora and fauna. In the winter, you can go skiing to the sunny Vogel Ski Center. The place really is a paradise for all of you, who enjoy spending time in the beautiful and peaceful nature.

PARADISE FOR MOUNTAINEERS

"PRI UKCU" is situated only a few minutes from the west shore of Lake Bohinj. The wonderful Savica waterfall is 30 minutes (by foot) away. The house is a starting point for various paths, leading to the tops of many mountains in the TRIGLAV NATIONAL PARK.

WHITE SPORTS

Our house is also a great location for all the guests who wish to go skiing to the Vogel Ski Center. It is only about 700 m away from the lower Vogel cable car station. Sunny weather and ski slopes, located in the mountains about 1500 m above sea level, with a view of Lake Bohinj and the Bohinj Valley, are the best reasons for your visit.

SECRETS OF THE LAKE

Lake Bohinj offers you a chance to go swimming, kayaking or canoeing, diving, fishing and many more. If you want more exciting adventures, you can go canyoning to the Mostnica River or rafting on the Sava River.

CULTURAL PEARLS

Hiking and walking around Bohinj, you can see many cultural pearls. You can visit museums, monuments, traditional farmhouses and small wooden houses on the mountain pastures. In almost every village, you can admire renovated churches that tell about the culture of the people in Bohinj. In summer, you are invited to join Bohinj locals to celebrate our festivals.

PILGRIMAGE DESTINATIONS FOR BOTANISTS

In our surroundings, all guests who are interested in nature can find a variety of alpine flora. Crna prst mountain and the Triglav Lakes Valley are the most well known places.

CYCLING

Slovenia's Alps are criss-crossed by a number of long-distance cycle routes split into stages. Comprised of five stages, the 232 km circular tour links Kranjska Gora, Bled, and Bohinj, before heading over the mountains to the Soča Valley, and thence returning to Kranjska Gora via the Vršič Pass. At a lower altitude, the 315 km Loška Tour may be divided into twelve stages which range from easy to very difficult. Encompassing Slovenia, Italy and Austria, the Three Countries Tour has an international flavour, and passes into Italy at the Rateče border crossing near Kranjska Gora.

GOLF

Set in a superb Alpine milieu near Lake Bled, Gorenjska boasts the oldest golf course in the country, in addition to which, the region also a number of driving ranges and putting greens. Opened in 1937, Bled Golf Course is reputedly one of the most beautiful in Central Europe. Suitable for beginners and professional golfers alike, the course enjoys a strong international reputation, and comprises the 18-hole King's Course and the 9-hole Lake Course.

FISHING

Bohinj and Bled, as well as a number of other mountain lakes, offer excellent angling. The watershed of the Gorenjska, encompassing the Sava and its tributaries, forms part of the greater-Danube river basin. Characteristic fish species include huchen, brown trout and grayling.

HUNTING

There are 42 game reserves in Gorenjska. Both recreational and commercial hunting are permitted for some species, dependant on the current cull numbers. Permit systems are managed by local associations, and, in addition to classical hunting, you may also enjoy the memorable experience of a photo safari in the wilderness.

AQUAPARK BOHINJ

The water park has a large and baby pool. It also has a lot of water attractions: two slides, wild river, jets, cavities, two climbing walls, island, outdoor terrace for sunbathing . The pool area is taking place a number of entertainment and sports programs. There is also a sauna and fitness.
